Guidelines

Bungee jumping is an exciting activity, but safety is paramount. Here's a breakdown of the Guidelines you can expect when bungee jumping:

  • Age: You must be 15 years of age or older to participate in gorilla trekking. This is to ensure the safety of both the gorillas and visitors, as young children are more likely to carry diseases that can be harmful to gorillas.
  • Health: You must be in good physical health to participate in gorilla trekking. The treks can be strenuous, and you will be hiking through uneven terrain. If you have any concerns about your health, it is best to consult with a doctor before booking your trip.
  • Fitness Level: A moderate level of fitness is required for gorilla trekking. The treks can last anywhere from a few hours to a full day, and you will be hiking through sometimes challenging terrain.
  • Permits: A gorilla trekking permit is required for all visitors. Permits are limited in number, so it is important to book your trek well in advance.
  • Group Size: Gorilla trekking groups are limited to a maximum of eight visitors. This helps to minimize disturbance to the gorillas.
  • Distance: Visitors must stay at least seven meters away from the gorillas at all times. This is to help prevent the transmission of diseases between humans and gorillas.
  • Time Limit: Visitors are only allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas. This helps to minimize stress on the gorillas.
  • Etiquette: Visitors are asked to remain quiet and respectful while observing the gorillas. Loud noises or sudden movements can startle the gorillas.
  • Hygiene: Visitors must wash their hands before and after their trek. This helps to prevent the transmission of diseases to the gorillas.
  • Flash Photography: Flash photography is not allowed. The bright light can startle the gorillas.
  • Eating and Drinking: Eating and drinking is not allowed near the gorillas for your own safety.
  • Book your trek well in advance. Gorilla trekking permits are limited in number, so it is important to book your trek as soon as possible, especially if you are traveling during peak season.
